My apologies for missing my blog last Friday but I was in Southampton visiting my good friend Jane. Jane has been battling ovarian cancer for 7 years now and is an inspiration to all who know her. This year I am participating in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope on Team Jane where we are striving to detect ovarian cancer early.
Currently there is no early detection screening test for ovarian cancer. This means that 70% of women do not survive longer than 5 years because they are diagnosed in the late stages of the disease. If we were able to detect the disease early, the survival rate would dramatically increase to 90%.
Therefore, any support that you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
The funds raised go directly to:
– support programs
– awareness and education initiatives
