Use your musical skills to compose on an acoustic piano and electronic keyboard, then remix it in Garage Band. Use your visual skills to animate, pixelate and "claymate" your music into a video. For this, we will be using digital photography, drawing, sculpting techniques and more. Campers are welcome to bring digital cameras from home, but please remember to include the cord, battery-charging system, and an empty memory chip. About Lauren: Lauren received her undergraduate degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1990 and her Master of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University in Montreal in 1995. She has exhibited widely across Canada, with several solo shows to her credit. Her work has been featured in contemporary art magazines such as Canadian Art and C Magazine. Her diverse teaching experience includes positions at NSCAD University, University of Victoria and Concordia University. She has taught adult and children's art classes at places like the Saidye Bronfman Centre School for the Arts in Montreal and the Koffler Centre and the Family Development Centre in Toronto. Prior to staying home with her two children, Lauren taught at Royal St. George's College Junior School in Toronto from 2002-2004, and ran their arts-based after-school program in 1999-2000. |
