MUSIC
NOTES
Welcome to Fall and to all of my students, old and new. I am looking forward to a wonderful music-filled year.
Congratulations to all students who played or wrote (or did both) Royal Conservatory of Music Exams...All were successful.
I have a new Grand Piano....a Schimmel May Berlin Piano which is 6 feet 2 inches.. and look forward to sharing this with my students.
Please read the information that is available on my web site....particularly my policies on missed and cancelled lessons I have posted phone numbers so that people that have an occasional conflict with piano lesson time can switch with each other. Let me know if you do not want your phone number or e-mail published. It just helps you to contact each other.
The only change in tuition is that I am charging the same for group lessons as I do for private. Also a reminder that you only pay for group for the first child. I have not placed students in groups yet as I have to get to know new students better before doing so. I will be teaching theory lessons to those that qualify as well and the information on that will be forthcoming.
I have developed a new practice sheet. Let me know what you think...Also please bring a three-ring binder to class.
I am requesting that parents of children under 12 years of age attend the last 5 minutes of the lessons. I have tried to do this before but did not carry it through very well I am afraid...Try try again...
Parental Support is a must, especially during the beginning phase of piano lessons.
Please review past music notes in order to understand my "Reward" System and Sight Reading contest...This Fall we will sight read for Halloween Treats...
Remember...practice at least 5 days a week. Mind spent NOT Time spent is what is most important...
Musically Yours,
Louise
